Like most young children, my toddler is obsessed with airplanes. Any time an airplane or helicopter flies by is reason for pause and a quick survey of the skies. Two of his favorite toys are his helicopter and lego airplane. He even scored an airplane pin from our Delta attendant during his first flight for good behavior.
So how convenient is it that there happens to be an airplane park in close proximity to our home? Located inside the Dekalb Peachtree Airport, is a small park with playground, field, and viewing area right by the runway. Kids can run a muck in a child proof area all while watching biplanes take off. Brilliant! And you know what’s even better? A free airshow that’s what. PDK will be hosting its annual airshow on May 17 from 12 – 5pm. Admission is free but parking is $10 per vehicle. We will be there with toddler and infant in tote. My son is going to lose is mind.
