I am nearly out of my mind with stress over dealing with having the house repainted (inside, outside, and upside down), but I thought I’d take a moment to give a shout out to Mary Warner, who let us stay at her amazing loft just a few minutes from our house while the gloopiest and messiest of the work was being done.
I am horrified at all the grammatical errors on on my airbnb review and the inevitable ones in this post, but alas, I only have so much time before I have to get back to scrubbing my house clean of contractor dust. So, please forgive my bad english-I am so very tired and just barely existing on the fumes of my freakish, obsessive/compulsive drive.
Anywho, back to the loft! Really, the photos speak for themselves–so, so chic and cozy. We found this spot via airbnb.com, and it was definitely a great first experience with the online service.
more after the jump!
- 851 Ralph McGill Boulevard Northeast, Atlanta, GA
- Plenty o’ parking
- Super responsive host
- Awesome design aesthetic, all the things
Before I booked, I wanted to make sure we were dealing with a legit human being (Be safe, people. The internet runneth over with the whack and wild) so I did some cyber stalking and could not have been more pleased with the results! Mary works in design/architecture and decided to list her home on airbnb as a part of her on going exploration of “the intersection of design and memory” as it relates to the definition of home. She documents her discoveries on her blog, coucouhome.com.
Mary is particularly interested in “home” as a sanctuary and ties in an outstanding philanthropic arm to her developing philosophy by giving a portion of her proceeds to Atlanta transitional housing and/or domestic violence shelters. She hopes to exhibit all her findings, interviews, and imagery in a collection, and you can find more on “The Domesticity Project” here.
If you are thinking of visiting Atlanta or live in the surrounding area and love an intown staycation, I hope you’ll consider this hip, comfy, and conveniently located loft!
Any other airbnb fans out there?
